Dear Clara – Strawberries
These strawberries surprised us when they first appeared appeared in our garden a few years ago. Since then the plants have been spreading and their fruit has become more plentiful. They remind us of how you came into our lives about as many years ago, as a joyous, miraculous gift for which we will be forever thankful! They also remind us of when your father was about your age, and we lived in the country. There was a large garden plot behind our house that was filled with fruits and vegetables. Your father was especially fond of the carrots and strawberries. He would grab hand fulls, then eat them on the spot, dirt and all! I wish you could be here with us today, to pick these strawberries, and taste their sweetness.
